class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">The Teso  region in Eastern Uganda<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-282df27e elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-widget-tablet__width-inherit elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"282df27e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p data-start=\"14\" data-end=\"456\">Amuria Development Association (AMDA) works to empower local communities to conserve biodiversity and promote sustainable environmental practices through grassroots action. In partnership with the <strong data-start=\"211\" data-end=\"246\">UNDP\/GEF Small Grants Programme<\/strong>, managed by the <strong data-start=\"263\" data-end=\"310\">United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)<\/strong>, AMDA implements community-led solutions to address deforestation and the loss of indigenous plant species in <strong data-start=\"421\" data-end=\"453\">Kapelebyong District, Uganda<\/strong>.<\/p><p data-start=\"458\" data-end=\"941\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Through this collaboration, AMDA supports over <strong data-start=\"505\" data-end=\"551\">1,100 community members and 250 households<\/strong>, working with <strong data-start=\"566\" data-end=\"593\">women-led farmer groups<\/strong> to protect native species, establish seed banks and nurseries, restore 50 acres of demonstration forests, and raise awareness on biodiversity conservation.
