Promoting Justice, Dignity, and Lasting Peace in the Teso Sub-Region
At AMDA, we believe that sustainable development is only possible where peace, justice, and respect for human rights exist. In the Teso sub-region, communities have faced the effects of conflict, social injustice, gender-based violence, land disputes, and marginalization. Our Peace-Building and Human Rights program works to address these challenges by strengthening community dialogue, promoting social cohesion, and empowering people to stand up for their rights.
Peace-Building and Conflict Resolution
We support communities to resolve conflicts peacefully through: Community dialogues and mediation forums Training in conflict prevention and resolution Promotion of tolerance, unity, and peaceful coexistence Strengthening traditional and local peace structures
Human Rights Awareness and Education
We raise awareness on fundamental human rights and responsibilities by: Conducting community sensitization and legal awareness sessions Educating citizens on constitutional and human rights Promoting access to justice for vulnerable and marginalized groups Supporting civic education and good governance
Gender Equality and Protection
We work to protect the rights of women, children, and other vulnerable groups through: Prevention of gender-based violence (GBV) Community advocacy for gender equality Support for survivors of abuse and discrimination Engagement of men and boys as champions for positive change
Youth Engagement and Leadership
Young people play a critical role in peace-building. AMDA NGO empowers youth by: Promoting youth participation in peace and governance initiatives Building leadership and life skills Supporting youth-led advocacy and community action
